Meriden Police Dispatchers were alerted to a disturbance involving a firearm on Friday night in Meriden, CT. Several first-watch officers responded to multiple calls around 11:28 p.m. reporting a physical altercation and providing a description of a suspect with a purported gun in the vicinity of 236 Grove Street.

Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered three individuals outside a vehicle that matched the description provided in the calls. The suspects admitted to engaging in a verbal dispute while trying to calm down the driver of the car.

One of the suspects, identified as James Kyle Hill from Hamden, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. He was promptly taken into police custody. The other two suspects, Ernest Harold, 33, from Hamden, and Jeremiah Galesky Perkins, 26, from Waterbury, were asked to exit the vehicle for a weapon pat down.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, officers discovered two firearms concealed under the front passenger seat. The firearms were seized immediately. All three individuals had previous felony convictions, including charges related to narcotics and firearms.

Subsequently, all three suspects were arrested and transported to Meriden Police Headquarters. Each suspect faces charges of criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a vehicle, and illegal sale, delivery, or transfer of pistols and revolvers.

Ernest Harold and Jeremiah Galesky Perkins are currently held on a bond of £500,000 each, while James Kyle Hill’s bond is set at £700,000.
