Indian Army Soldier Assaulted by Group of Five in Tumakuru, Karnataka
Tumakuru: The peaceful village of Rayawara in Tumakuru district, Karnataka, was shaken by a violent incident when a soldier of the Indian Army, identified as Govindaraju (30), was brutally attacked by a group of five individuals. The incident took place at Bhyrenahalli, leaving the soldier injured and admitted to Koratagere government hospital for treatment.
Govindaraju, who is currently posted in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, had returned to his hometown on vacation to spend time with his family. Little did he know that his visit would turn into a nightmare due to the senseless act of violence perpetrated against him.
According to the police report, the unfortunate incident unfolded as Govindaraju was making his way home after visiting a friend in the village. A group of five individuals obstructed his path, leading to a verbal altercation. The situation quickly escalated, and one of the assailants viciously struck Govindaraju’s head with a beer bottle, while others joined in the assault.
The five accused individuals responsible for the attack have been identified as Bharath, Puneeth, Gourishankar, Shiva, and Dileep. In response to Govindaraju’s complaint, the Koratagere police have registered a case against the perpetrators and launched a manhunt to apprehend them.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the peaceful village, prompting concerns about the safety and security of residents. The Koratagere Assembly constituency, represented by Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara, is now under scrutiny as authorities work to bring the culprits to justice and prevent such heinous acts from recurring.
