A motorist was taken into custody following a series of collisions with four power poles, a mailbox, and a street sign on Thursday night in Perry Township.

According to reports from News Center 7, Perry Township police responded to the incident on Johnsville Brookville Road near Little Richmond Road at approximately 9:50 p.m. The crash resulted in the destruction of multiple power poles.

An official statement from Perry Township Police confirmed that the driver responsible for the incident caused damage to four power poles, a mailbox, and a street sign.

The driver, identified as Edward Brate, was subsequently arrested and taken to Montgomery County Jail. Initial charges against Brate include operating a vehicle under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless operation, and failure to control, as indicated by online jail records.

Following the collision, the affected roadway remained closed until 6:30 a.m. on Friday to allow crews to clear the debris and repair the damage caused by the crash.

As of now, Edward Brate is not in custody.
