The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced a significant development in a homicide investigation that dates back to last year.
On June 12, 2023, officers responded to a call in the vicinity of 1300 Eddy Road where they found a man lying in the road. The victim was identified as Dylonn Bealle-Veneziale, a 23-year-old male, who was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, Bealle-Veneziale was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, friends and family gathered for a vigil in memory of Bealle-Veneziale, who was described as a joyful and caring individual. M.A.D.D.A.D.S., a local community organization, also joined the family in their quest for justice.
After an extensive investigation, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced that Cierra Marie Martin, aged 31, has been identified as the shooting suspect. Martin, who is currently serving a prison sentence for aggravated assault in the Lowell Correction Institute in Marion County, Florida, was brought in for questioning by homicide detectives. Subsequently, she was arrested for murder in connection with Bealle-Veneziale’s death.
Describing the victim, a friend named Alex expressed his sentiments, saying, “I love you my boy. He was a son, a good friend, and I have many cherished memories with him.”
As of now, Cierra’s first court date is pending announcement.
