On Thursday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Rapid City Police Department swiftly responded to a crash at the intersection of Anamosa Street and Lacrosse Street. The scene of the incident revealed a silver SUV that had collided with a traffic signal pole on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old Christopher Quickbear, a resident of Rapid City. Quickbear displayed clear signs of impairment, which included a noticeable odour of alcohol emanating from his person. Additionally, police discovered a can of air duster in the passenger seat of the SUV.

Upon conducting a thorough DUI investigation, law enforcement officials determined that Quickbear was significantly impaired and unfit to safely operate a vehicle. As a result, Quickbear was promptly arrested on charges of DUI fourth offence, driving under revocation, lack of proof of insurance, failure to utilise a seatbelt, and a probation hold.

Following his arrest, Quickbear was taken into custody as the incident continues to be under investigation by authorities. The Rapid City Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents by diligently addressing incidents of impaired driving within the community.
