Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh), May 25, 2024 (ANI): In a shocking incident, at least seven tribal girls were reportedly raped in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district after the accused used a voice modulation app to impersonate a female teacher. The victims were lured to a deserted location under the guise of discussing scholarships, as per official reports.

The heinous crime came to light when one of the victims bravely filed a police complaint at the Majhauli police station in the district. Following the complaint, the police swiftly apprehended four suspects, including the main accused, Brijesh Prajapati (30).

Speaking to ANI, Inspector General of Police (IG) Rewa Range, Mahendra Singh Sikarwar, stated, “A girl reported that she was contacted by a man using a female voice, who arranged to meet her at an isolated spot for scholarship assistance. Subsequently, the accused coerced the victim into a vulnerable situation and committed the despicable act.”

Upon receiving the distressing information, law enforcement initiated a thorough investigation, leading to the arrest of the prime suspect and his accomplices. The main accused, identified as Brijesh Prajapati from Sidhi district, confessed to the abhorrent act of raping seven girls. The police have identified four victims so far, and cases have been registered based on their statements.

Further probes into the matter are ongoing, with authorities committed to taking necessary actions. According to official statements, after violating the victims, the accused would seize their mobile phones to obtain contact details of other girls, which were then sold in the market with the help of associates.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken cognizance of the incident and directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the case extensively. In a statement, CM Yadav expressed, “Those who engage in such reprehensible acts are enemies of society, and the strictest measures will be implemented against them. The culprits will face consequences without leniency.”

He further added, “An SIT has been constituted to meticulously examine all facets of the case, gather concrete evidence, and present a comprehensive report. The investigation will be conducted impartially to uncover the truth.” (ANI)
