Accident – Death – Obituary News : Four individuals have been apprehended in Andhra Pradesh’s Mandavalli for their alleged involvement in the filming and dissemination of a video depicting the purported rape of a girl by a juvenile. The authorities revealed this information on Friday, May 24, shedding light on an incident that reportedly occurred on May 15 but only recently surfaced. The arrested suspects have been identified as Bale Balasubrahmanyam (22), Gantashala Chandrasekhar (28), Peddireddi Dharmateja (19), and Jayamangala Hari Krishna (20).
“The juvenile has been sent to a juvenile home, while the detained men have been placed in custody,” a police official stated.
How did the incident transpire?
According to law enforcement officials, the victim, a minor, was acquainted with the juvenile offender. She had visited a government school in Chintapadu village, located in the Mandavalli mandal of Eluru district, to collect some books.
“Upon noticing the Class-7 student alone, the Class-10 student lured her into the school premises and allegedly committed the heinous act. The arrested individuals, who were known associates of the juvenile, recorded the incident and circulated the video footage,” the police explained.
Police take legal action
The parents of the victim lodged a police complaint, leading to the arrests of the four suspects under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 376(3) (rape), 354C (voyeurism), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 109 (abetment of a crime). Additionally, they have been charged under pertinent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act.
