In a horrifying incident in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area, a 3-year-old girl child was allegedly kidnapped, raped, and ultimately strangled to death by her neighbour. The accused, identified as 34-year-old Anil, was apprehended by the police while he was trying to flee to Kanpur. During the recovery of the deceased’s body, Anil attempted to escape by snatching a police pistol and was shot by the authorities.
DCP (South West) Rohit Meena shared details of the disturbing case, stating that the victim’s father reported the kidnapping of his infant daughter by a neighbour in Kapashera. The police immediately launched a search operation to locate the missing girl.
The victim’s family revealed that they had been residing in Kapashera for the past five years in a rented accommodation. On the day of the incident, their toddler daughter was playing outside their home when Anil, a neighbour, abducted her.
An FIR was registered under section 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC, and a thorough investigation commenced. CCTV footage revealed Anil with the girl heading towards Ganda Nala at 7:05 pm and returning alone at 7:25 pm. Subsequently, the police discovered that Anil was attempting to flee the city towards Sohna.
A police team intercepted a bus headed to Kanpur and arrested the suspect at around 11.55 pm. Anil was interrogated during the journey back to Delhi, providing crucial information about the tragic incident.
This shocking crime has left the community in Kapashera reeling, with calls for swift justice for the innocent victim. The authorities are committed to ensuring that the perpetrator faces the full force of the law for this heinous act.
