In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a drunk couple got into a heated altercation with morning walkers on 100 Feet Road at 6.30 am on Thursday. The dispute arose when the couple, who were visibly intoxicated, stopped their vehicle on the road and started smoking and drinking beer, much to the dismay of the senior citizens who were out for their morning walk.
According to eyewitnesses, the couple, identified as Alex Bodi Cherla, 25, and an unidentified woman, were seen holding bottles in one hand and cigarettes in the other. They had stopped their car in the middle of the road, causing inconvenience to the morning walkers. The situation took a turn for the worse when the woman started using foul language and blowing cigarette smoke into the faces of the walkers.
Mr. M. Ramesh Rao, a 68-year-old morning walker who was present at the scene, expressed his shock and disapproval of the couple’s behaviour. “We come here for peace and exercise, not to face such disrespect and abuse,” he said.
The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among the public. The Nagole police have registered a case against the couple and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Inspector P. Parashu Ram stated, “They obstructed and abused senior citizens who were out for their morning walk, leading to public outrage.”
After the altercation, the couple drove away from the scene, leaving behind a group of bewildered morning walkers. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of respecting others in public spaces and behaving responsibly, especially when under the influence of alcohol.
