Three individuals tragically lost their lives in a devastating single-vehicle accident that took place in Shediac, New Brunswick, on Friday morning. The incident occurred when the vehicle veered off the road on Highway 132 near Shediac at approximately 7:00 a.m.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) swiftly responded to a report of the crash and upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle had plummeted down a steep 100-foot embankment before coming to a rest on its roof. The driver and two passengers, all of whom sustained fatal injuries, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Victims identified

The deceased have been identified as a 54-year-old man from Indian Island First Nation, New Brunswick, a 51-year-old man from Upper Rexton, New Brunswick, and a 25-year-old woman from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The loss of these individuals has deeply impacted their respective communities and families.

Emergency Response

Emergency services, including members of the Shediac Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick, were on-site to provide assistance. Additionally, an RCMP collision reconstructionist has been tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal outcome.
