(KRON) – A three-vehicle collision on the Bay Bridge in San Francisco resulted in the apprehension of a male driver by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on the westbound side of the Bay Bridge, just east of Harrison Street, at 5:35 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Following the collision, the driver responsible for the crash absconded from the scene on foot, leaving behind a trail of damaged vehicles.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities resulting from the collision, although one of the drivers involved was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver deemed responsible for the hit-and-run incident is currently in police custody. The suspect, a 43-year-old man, was swiftly identified and apprehended by law enforcement officers.
Following the necessary investigations and cleanup operations, all lanes on the Bay Bridge have since been reopened for normal traffic flow, allowing commuters to resume their journeys without further disruptions.
