Troy, Tx (FOX 44) – UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed that the victim of a crash in Troy has been identified as a missing woman from Harris County.

Details of the Incident

On Wednesday, Troy Police officers were called to respond to a stalled vehicle at Mile Marker #306 at around 4:41 p.m. The situation quickly escalated into a major accident when an 18-wheeler collided with a Ford Bronco on the highway.

Emergency responders from both the Troy Police and Troy Volunteer Fire departments worked tirelessly to provide life-saving care to the injured person trapped in the Ford Bronco. Using hydraulic rescue tools, they were able to extract the individual from the vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Identification of the Victim

The injured person in the Ford Bronco has been identified as 66-year-old Tracy Kathryn Rambosek, who was reported missing from Harris County. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 had listed Rambosek as a missing person on Tuesday, May 21. Troy Police reached out to Rambosek’s family to notify them of the situation, and she was subsequently transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Troy Police, along with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Earlier in the day, another traffic incident involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler caused significant delays on southbound Interstate 35 near Mile Marker #308. By 9 a.m., traffic flow had resumed in the area.
