Police Officer Claims to be Real Husband of Murdered Ohangla Dancer Sheila Akeyo Odoyo

A police officer has come forward claiming to be the true husband of Sheila Akeyo Odoyo, also known as Wegesha, in a shocking new development in the murder investigation of the popular Ohangla dancer. Sheila’s mutilated body was discovered in a house in Athi River, Machakos County, adding a new twist to the case.

Sheila, aged 38, was reportedly living with a man named Jackson Bambo, also known as JB, who was believed to be her husband. Jackson, a 45-year-old businessman, went into hiding as police launched a probe into the murder. Speculations suggest that the couple’s troubled marriage was marred by allegations of infidelity.

Linda Okinyi, Sheila’s daughter, informed investigators that she found her mother dead when she went to serve her lunch. Sheila, who had deep cuts on her throat, is believed to have been killed on the night of May 9. Linda also revealed that her father left the house around 1 am on the fateful night in a Mitsubishi Outlander without saying a word.

Love Triangle Suspected

With Sergeant Samwel Odoyo now asserting his claim over Sheila’s body, authorities could be exploring the possibility of a love triangle leading to her tragic demise.

Speaking to the press, Odoyo expressed his shock at Sheila’s sudden death, revealing that they were in the process of reconciling after their marriage hit a rough patch. He disclosed that they had spoken on the phone just two days before her untimely passing, discussing plans to meet and rekindle their relationship after being apart for nearly seven years.

Unexpected Turn of Events

Odoyo narrated that Sheila had hinted at leaving Jackson and reuniting with him. They had agreed to meet in Kisumu, where Odoyo works, to discuss their future together. However, Sheila’s tragic death shattered his hopes of a reconciliation.

Despite living separately since 2017, Odoyo emphasised that they maintained communication and co-parented their three children, ensuring they received the necessary support. He expressed his grief over losing Sheila, stating that he is struggling to come to terms with her passing.

Cultural Rights

Odoyo asserted his right to bury Sheila in accordance with Luo customs, citing their 13-year history together and the dowry he paid to formalise their marriage. He mentioned that his in-laws are supportive of his claim as Sheila’s legitimate husband. The burial is set to take place in a new homestead in Soko village, Kanyach Kachar location in Homa Bay.
