Accident – Death – Obituary News :

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – A male individual from Fargo found himself behind bars in Clay County Jail following a dramatic police pursuit that unfolded on State Highway 9 and eventually spilled onto I-94.

The sequence of events commenced around 1:30 pm on a Friday afternoon when a Glyndon Police officer attempted to halt the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 10. However, the driver, later identified as 36-year-old Shaun Montanari from Fargo, adamantly refused to comply, opting to evade law enforcement by speeding southward on Highway 9, clocking in at an alarming 95 mph.

Montanari’s reckless journey took a more perilous turn as he veered onto I-94 heading west, reaching alarming speeds of up to 120 mph. The situation escalated further when a state trooper strategically deployed stop sticks near mile marker 10, successfully bringing the high-speed pursuit to a halt.

Subsequent to his arrest, Montanari was charged with felony fleeing and the possession of a stolen vehicle. It was later revealed that he was also wanted on outstanding warrants in North Dakota, adding another layer of complexity to the case.

Accompanying Montanari during the incident was a female companion, who was granted safe passage to Moorhead without facing any legal repercussions.
