Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On the 16th of March 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing call regarding a drug overdose death of a 21-year-old male named Samuel Pearson. The incident took place in the 10100 block of Barberry in Willis. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered the lifeless body of the young man. The MCSO Narcotics team was promptly notified and launched an investigation into the tragic event.

During the course of the investigation, authorities unearthed a baggie of pills inside a drawer and a white powdery substance on a nearby desk. Subsequent testing confirmed that the powdery substance was fentanyl. Judge Wayne Mack ordered an autopsy which revealed that the cause of death was indeed a drug overdose, specifically due to fentanyl toxicity.

Identification of the Suspect

Delving deeper into the victim’s text messages, investigators stumbled upon communications with another individual. Following an interview with this person, Kein Cormier was identified as the individual who had sold the victim the fatal fentanyl-laced pills on the 13th of March 2024 in The Woodlands.

Further analysis of the pills found at the scene was conducted by the DPS Lab, which confirmed the presence of fentanyl and 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine at a dosage of 0.15 grams. The conclusive ruling from the autopsy pinned the blame on Cormier for manufacturing the pills that led to the victim’s untimely demise.

Arrest and Legal History of Kein Cormier

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Kein Cormier. He was apprehended on a Tuesday afternoon in Harris County and has since been booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Cormier faces a first-degree murder charge with a bond set at $250,000.

It is worth noting that this is not Cormier’s first brush with the law. He has a history of prior arrests, including charges of criminal mischief in May 2016 by the MCSO, possession of marijuana in October 2019 (reduced to possession of drug paraphernalia with a $400 fine in August 2020), and possession of a controlled substance of less than 28 grams in December 2020.

For the latter charge, Cormier was sentenced to one year of probation in August 2021, which was later revoked leading to a 30-day jail term in November 2021. In February 2022, he was arrested by the Houston Police for aggravated assault with a weapon and subsequently received a 2-year deferred probation sentence in Harris County in April 2023. Later in December 2022, he was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member, resulting in a 10-day jail sentence in April 2023.

The arrest of Kein Cormier in connection with the drug overdose death of Samuel Pearson serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of drug trafficking and abuse. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues to work tirelessly to combat such illicit activities and bring perpetrators to justice.
