SEDGWICK COUNTY— Authorities in Wichita are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting incident that occurred at a local massage parlor.
According to Officer Juan Rebolledo, the incident took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the massage parlor located at 2723 SE Boulevard Plaza. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a man identified as Robexy Figueroa from Wyoming, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene by Sedgwick County EMS.
Initial reports suggest that Figueroa had entered the establishment armed with a firearm with the intention of carrying out a robbery. A confrontation ensued between Figueroa and a 71-year-old man, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two individuals.
The 71-year-old man sustained several gunshot wounds and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officer Rebolledo confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the man was in a stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
