Details of the Incident
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young Malayali medical student, Riaz Haris Muhammed, lost his life in a tragic accident in Tajikistan. The 24-year-old student, who was celebrating his birthday with friends, fell into a lake while taking photographs.
Riaz, the son of Takhitiel T H Haris Muhammed, a Joint Secretary in the Secretariat Law Department, was a resident of Pathanadu, Kottayam. He was pursuing his MBBS studies at Avicenna Tajik State Medical University in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Funeral Arrangements
The tragic incident occurred on May 22, which happened to be Riaz’s 24th birthday. He was preparing to return home after completing his studies when the accident took place. The funeral of the young student will be held today at 11 am at Puthurpally Juma Masjid graveyard in Kangazha.
Riaz is survived by his grief-stricken parents, his father Takhitiel T H Haris Muhammed and his mother Shahamol, as well as his brother Raziq Haris Muhammed.
