A CCTV camera in the vicinity captured the entire incident as it unfolded. The footage shows a white Toyota Fortuner slowly reversing on the narrow street. Suddenly, the elderly man, identified as Rajendra Gupta, is struck by the SUV and falls underneath the vehicle. Oblivious to Gupta’s presence, the driver continues to reverse the SUV, dragging the injured man along the street.
Gupta’s cries of pain alerted nearby residents, who quickly rushed to the scene to offer assistance. The driver, upon realising the situation, immediately stopped the vehicle but not before dragging the injured man several feet. The sheer weight of the SUV, over 2.5 tons, exerted immense pressure on Gupta, resulting in severe injuries.

As the crowd gathered, the driver of the Fortuner promptly exited the vehicle. Bystanders worked together to extract Gupta from beneath the car.
