Chesterfield County, Va. – In a recent development, Chesterfield police have apprehended three individuals believed to be involved in a fatal shooting incident that occurred over the weekend on Marina Drive.
Arrest of Suspects
The Chesterfield County Police Department has identified the suspects as 23-year-old Christopher T. Rhames, 21-year-old Zhekour X. Ross, and 29-year-old Amaris M. Hemphill. The arrests were made following an intensive investigation into the tragic event.
Details of the Incident
On Saturday, May 18, at approximately 2:09 p.m., authorities received a distress call regarding an unconscious male in the 2500 block of Marina Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Qadriq J. Scott with a gunshot wound. Sadly, Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.
Warrants and Charges
After thorough examination and collection of evidence, detectives obtained warrants for Rhames and Ross on charges of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Additionally, Hemphill was also charged for being an accessory after the fact and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Current Status of the Suspects
Rhames is currently detained at Riverside Regional Jail without the option of bond. On the other hand, Ross and Hemphill were apprehended by law enforcement in Monterey, Tennessee on the afternoon of May 22. They are presently incarcerated in a county jail in Putnam County, Tennessee.
Investigation Continues
According to officials, the ongoing investigation suggests that Scott was acquainted with the suspects. However, the precise nature of their relationship and the motives behind the shooting remain under scrutiny.
