Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded in Shahjahanpur district as a 24-year-old nurse was discovered lifeless in a hotel room’s bathroom on Thursday evening, according to senior police officials on Friday.
The family of the deceased nurse has levied serious allegations, claiming that she was sexually assaulted and then strangled.
Authorities have pinpointed the prime suspect as the nurse’s boyfriend, who had reserved the hotel room with her. He left the premises after informing the hotel staff that he would return with food.
identified as Nancy Singh, a resident of Ganesh Ganj in Pilibhit, the nurse had been employed at a private hospital in the area for the past six months.
According to Shahjahanpur superintendent of police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena, Nancy arrived at the hotel room with a man named Shubham Shukla from Pooranpur, Pilibhit, around 4:30 pm on Thursday. Shukla departed an hour later, claiming he would return with food, but failed to reappear.
After several hours passed without Shukla’s return, the hotel staff grew suspicious and checked the room, discovering Nancy’s lifeless body in the bathroom.
Initial investigations revealed no signs of struggle, suggesting that the suspect may have planned the murder in advance and strangled the victim while she was unsuspecting. Strangulation marks on the woman’s neck confirmed this suspicion. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Evidence of a heavy object being dragged across the room indicated that the perpetrator had moved the body to the bathroom in an attempt to conceal the crime before fleeing the scene.
Following a formal complaint, authorities have filed charges of murder (Section 302 IPC) and rape (Section 376 IPC) against Shukla.
Despite the lack of operational CCTV cameras at the hotel, the police have secured the digital video recordings and deployed three teams to hunt down the suspect..
