Authorities in Toronto have announced that a 65-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the tragic death of a 57-year-old man in the city’s east end. The incident took place on May 16 at a residence in the Eglinton Avenue East and Birchmount Road area.

Altercation Turns Deadly

According to reports, the two individuals involved in the altercation were known to each other. The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, identified as Mohamed Alladin of Toronto, with a weapon during the altercation. Alladin sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital by paramedics. Despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries on May 19.

Arrest and Charges

The suspect, Chandrika Rampat of Toronto, was apprehended at the scene by law enforcement officials on the day of the incident. Initially charged with aggravated assault and assault, Rampat’s charges have since been upgraded to second-degree murder in light of Alladin’s passing.
