The 53-year-old suspect, known as Lu, has a history of mental illness. He is currently in police custody, with authorities conducting an investigation into the incident. The injured individual is reported to be in stable condition and not in any life-threatening danger, as stated by Xinhua.
While violent crime is uncommon in China due to strict gun control laws, there has been a noticeable increase in stabbing incidents in recent times.

Earlier this week, a woman armed with a fruit knife carried out a deadly attack at a primary school in Jiangxi province, resulting in two fatalities and four injuries.
The tragic incident occurred around midday in Guixi, as per CCTV reports. Despite rescue efforts, two victims lost their lives, while four others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, six individuals suffered minor scratches in the attack.
CCTV did not disclose the ages of the victims involved in the incident.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Pan, is currently in police custody, and the case is under thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the attack.
