YARMOUTH – Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced today that Jonathan Fleischmann, a 36-year-old resident of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, has pleaded guilty in the Barnstable Superior Court on May 23, 2024, for his involvement in the assaults on two minor victims.

Jonathan Fleischmann Pleads Guilty to Multiple Charges

Jonathan Fleischmann has entered a guilty plea to a total of six charges, including Home Invasion, Firearm Armed Kidnapping, Firearm Armed Assault in a Dwelling, Assault to Rape, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery.

Details of the Assault

On February 6, 2020, at around 2:20 PM, Victim 1 was walking home from school with her boyfriend in Yarmouth. Upon arriving at her home, Victim 1 encountered a man, later identified as Jonathan Fleischmann, who claimed to be from the electric company and informed her that the power was going to be shut off. Subsequently, Fleischmann, wearing a ski mask, entered the garage where he pulled out a gun and instructed Victim 1 to enter the house. Despite Victim 1’s attempt to flee, Fleischmann restrained her until Victim 2 intervened, causing Fleischmann to flee the scene.

Yarmouth Police responded to the incident and, through video surveillance, identified Fleischmann as the perpetrator. Following a photo array identification by Victim 1, Fleischmann was arrested on March 10, 2020.

Sentencing

Jonathan Fleischmann has been sentenced to 12-15 years in State Prison by the Barnstable Superior Court for his crimes.

Investigation and Prosecution

The investigation into the case was led by Detective Eric Nuss of the Yarmouth Police Department, with prosecution handled by Assistant District Attorney Courtney Scalice and Victim Witness Assistant Kimberly Pierce.

Prior Arrests

In addition to the recent guilty plea, Jonathan Fleischmann has a history of legal troubles. CWN archives reveal that Fleischmann was arrested on November 3, 2021, for failing to register as a sex offender. Furthermore, on May 22, 2023, Fleischmann faced child pornography charges, adding to his criminal record.
