Five individuals have been apprehended in connection with a drive-by shooting that took place on May 1 in the Las Vegas Trail neighbourhood in west Fort Worth, Texas. The incident resulted in injuries to six individuals, as reported by the local police department in a news release on Thursday.
Each of the suspects faces charges of six counts of aggravated assault causing bodily harm-discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, along with one count of deadly conduct discharge of a firearm at a habitation.
The accused individuals have been identified as:
- Jamal Piper, 17, from Fort Worth
- Hayden Bates-Vellmure, 18, from Fort Worth
- Jordan Elijah Jackson, 20, from Fort Worth
- Allan Gilbert, 18, from Dallas
- Patrick Biscoe, 19, from Dallas
Following the investigation, Piper and Bates-Vellmure were apprehended in Fort Worth, Jackson in Bedford, Gilbert in Desoto, and Biscoe in Dallas.
Authorities believe that the shooting was a targeted attack directed at an individual residing near the Miramar apartments in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Trail, where the incident occurred.
The victims of the shooting, ranging in age from 3 to 19, sustained injuries during the incident. Police officers were able to identify the suspects with the help of witness accounts and surveillance footage.
