A Woodbridge man has been taken into custody and charged with abduction and rape after allegedly assaulting a girl under the age of fifteen in Prince William County, Md.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Dennis William Caballero Mejia of Woodbridge, Virginia, was apprehended following a report of a sexual assault at a residence on Gloucester Ct. in Woodbridge on May 22 at 11:03 p.m.
According to authorities, the victim was brought to the residence by the suspect, whom she had recently met. Once inside, Mejia allegedly prevented the young girl from leaving the room and proceeded to sexually assault her.
After managing to break free from the accused, the victim contacted the police to report the incident.
Caballero Mejia has been formally charged with rape and abduction and is currently being held without bond.
