NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities have identified 39-year-old Daniel Revette, a convicted sex offender, as the suspect in a recent sexual assault outside of a Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) parking garage.

The incident took place on May 11 outside VUMC’s East parking garage on 21st Avenue South. Metro police have issued warrants for Revette’s arrest, charging him with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery, and attempted rape.

According to detectives and forensic experts at the MNPD’s crime lab, Revette was identified as the suspect following a thorough investigation. Police are urging anyone with information on Revette’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Previous Incidents and Convictions

Revette, believed to be homeless, has a history of criminal convictions, including attempted rape in 2007 for which he served a six-year sentence. He is currently under lifetime community supervision by the Tennessee Department of Correction.

In 2021, Revette was convicted of aggravated assault and received another six-year sentence. Additionally, he has multiple convictions for violating the state’s sex offender registry laws.

On May 18, the state issued warrants against Revette for sex offender registration violations and community supervision violations.

Details of the Assault

On the day of the assault, a VUMC employee reported seeing Revette pacing near the parking garage. He allegedly attacked her from behind, choking her and threatening her life if she made any noise. During the struggle, he sexually assaulted the victim before she was able to break free and escape.
