Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Children’s Home Society of North Carolina is facing a critical situation, with ten calls coming in every day from children in need of a safe and stable home for the night. Unfortunately, there are only enough available foster homes to accommodate two of these calls. This heartbreaking reality highlights the urgent need for more foster families to step up and provide care for these vulnerable children.

One of the children affected by this shortage is Autumn, a 12-year-old girl who currently resides in a group home. Autumn has been in foster care for most of her life and is eagerly awaiting adoption. Despite the challenges she has faced, Autumn remains resilient and hopeful for a brighter future with a loving and supportive forever family.

Audrey Biesk from WXII 12 recently spent time with Autumn at the Greensboro Science Center, where they explored the Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfly House. Autumn expressed her love for the outdoors and her passion for exploration, finding solace in the tranquillity of the butterfly house.

During their time together, Autumn revealed her aspirations for the future, sharing that she dreams of becoming a high-tech mechanic or a rapper. She has a talent for rapping and uses music as a way to express her emotions and experiences. Autumn also shared the significance of a ring she wears, inscribed with the words “I am enough,” a reminder of her self-worth and resilience in the face of adversity.

Autumn’s heartfelt desire for a family that respects, loves, and cares for her underscores the importance of finding stable and nurturing homes for children in need. The Children’s Home Society of North Carolina is actively seeking adoptive families for Autumn and other children like her, providing support and guidance throughout the adoption process.

To learn more about adopting Autumn or to inquire about becoming a foster parent, please contact the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina at 336-271-7989. Your decision to open your heart and home to a child in need can make a profound difference in their life and future. Let’s come together as a community to ensure that every child has a place to call home..
