Amid a growing demand for justice for the two IT professionals who lost their lives in a tragic hit-and-run incident involving a teenage driver in a Porsche, the Pune City Police have taken a step towards unraveling the truth by questioning the 17-year-old’s grandfather.
The horrifying incident occurred when the minor crashed his luxurious sports car into the two IT professionals who were riding a motorcycle, resulting in their untimely demise.
The Mumbai Crime Branch, responsible for investigating the case, has called in the accused teen’s grandfather for questioning, along with the teen’s father, who is a police officer.
Additionally, the police have also summoned the driver and a friend of the accused teen to gather more information about the events leading up to the fatal collision.
Probe Continues
Senior officials overseeing the investigation revealed that all individuals involved were interrogated simultaneously by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
The police are keen on making the driver a key witness in the case as it was reported that on the night of the incident, the accused teen was initially seated in the passenger seat but later switched places with the driver at the behest of his father.
After conducting a thorough questioning session, the police have confiscated the mobile phone of the accused teen’s father to examine his call records for further insights into the case.
Following the recent developments, the juvenile’s grandparent has been asked to appear for another round of questioning before the Crime Branch.
Suspects in Custody
The teen’s father, along with the owners and manager of the bar where the group was drinking prior to the incident, are currently under police custody and facing intense interrogation.
The authorities plan to present them before a court for a custody extension to gather more leads in the case.
The tragic incident claimed the lives of two young IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh, Ashwini Koshta, and Aneesh Awadhia, in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar on the night of May 19.
