A suspected high-value individual, identified as Albert Padayao alias Perot, of legal age, was killed during a shootout with policemen in Sitio Cabancalan 2, Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, on Thursday afternoon.
Perot, a resident of Purok Camanchili, Barangay Candulawan, Talisay City, originally hailing from Barangay Maghaway, was the target of a police operation to validate reports of illegal drug activities in the area.
Reports indicate that Perot opened fire on the operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Talisay City Police Office, prompting authorities to retaliate. The pursuit led to Perot’s demise in Cabangcalan 2 after being struck by a bullet.
Seized Contraband
Upon searching the suspect, authorities discovered a .45 pistol with 11 live bullets, a .380 handgun with 16 live rounds, and a substantial quantity of suspected shabu weighing 12.35 grams, valued at P83,900.
Police investigations revealed that Perot was allegedly involved in several murder cases, including incidents in Sitio Cabancalan, Barangay Bulacao Pardo, Cebu City on February 22, 2024, and in Sitio Barracks, Barangay Inayagan, City of Naga, on April 14, 2024.
Prior to his demise, Perot had a criminal record that included charges of attempted murder, robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, and violations of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
