Richmond, Virginia – Detectives from the Richmond Police Department have confirmed the identity of the victim discovered shot dead inside a residence in the Southside area of the city. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Tyshawn White, a resident of Richmond.
The incident took place on Wednesday, May 22 on Edwards Avenue, with officers receiving a call at approximately 1:27 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 1600 block of the street.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers were directed by a family member to White, who was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound inside the residence. Tragically, White was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are now appealing for any individuals who may have video footage from surveillance cameras in the area, located in the northern part of the Oak Grove neighbourhood, to come forward with their recordings.
