Colorado Springs, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities made a significant discovery while investigating a crime at a southwest Colorado Springs apartment complex on Wednesday. Police were called to The Ivy at Cheyenne Creek Apartments off South Cascade, just west of South Nevada, in response to a reported burglary involving suspects allegedly armed with weapons.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that one of the male suspects had allegedly pointed a gun at a witness. While the suspect was not seen with a weapon when law enforcement arrived, they were able to gather enough evidence to arrest him for possession of a weapon as a previous offender.
Continuing their investigation, officers obtained search warrants for the suspect’s apartment and vehicle. Following thorough searches, authorities were able to recover a stolen handgun, as well as various other items believed to be stolen property.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Travis Clark.
