Three individuals, including two minors, have been accused of attacking a 19-year-old BTech student in Bhopal. The incident occurred in the Piplani locality on Tuesday night while the victim was returning from the library with his friends. The attack, which was allegedly over a petty dispute, left the student profusely bleeding and in need of immediate medical attention.
The victim, identified as Chandan Patel, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. The Piplani police have registered a case against the accused on charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide. The prime suspect, Ritik Bathle, 21, who is a student, has been apprehended along with his two minor accomplices.
According to the investigation officer, Head Constable Sonilal, Chandan Patel is originally from Shahdol and resides in Ashoka Vihar Colony in Anand Nagar. The incident took place on Hathaikheda Road in Anand Nagar when Chandan and his friends were returning to their rented accommodation after studying at a library.
At around 11 pm, near Rishipuram Colony, the three unidentified assailants confronted the group and began verbally abusing them. When Chandan objected to their behavior, one of the attackers pulled out a knife and stabbed him. The severity of the injury caused Chandan to start bleeding profusely, prompting his friends to rush him to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
