Authorities have now confirmed the identities of the two victims following a prolonged standoff with law enforcement in Cleveland. The incident unfolded on Tuesday evening at a residence near E. 154th Street and Hampstead Avenue in Cleveland, lasting a grueling 12 hours.
The situation began when a concerned individual contacted the police to report that a suspect had allegedly taken the lives of two individuals. Upon further investigation, law enforcement discovered the bodies of two individuals inside the property.
On Thursday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office released the names of the victims as 51-year-old Ritchie Welch and 65-year-old Regina Young-Fellows. Both deaths are being treated as suspected homicides.
Additionally, a third individual, identified as 57-year-old Norris Richardson, was also found deceased at the scene. The medical examiner has not yet disclosed the cause of Richardson’s passing.
Authorities made several attempts to negotiate with the suspect who had barricaded themselves inside the property. Tragically, the suspect ultimately took their own life, bringing the standoff to a devastating conclusion.
