KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Kings County District Attorney’s Office has identified the woman found dead, wrapped in plastic in a Hanford closet as Peggi Yingling, the mother of the suspect, Kelli Yingling.
On Monday afternoon, Hanford Police Department officers discovered the deceased woman at a residence in the 900 block of West Encore Drive. The suspect, 37-year-old Kelli Yingling, was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
According to investigators, concerned neighbours contacted the authorities after not seeing Peggi Yingling for several weeks.
The DA’s office has filed a criminal complaint accusing Kelli Yingling of murder and elder abuse between April 29 and May 7. Additionally, she faces a charge of elder abuse dating back to December 12, 2023.
In 2023, Kelli Yingling was placed on felony probation for elder abuse and criminal threats against her mother, Peggi Yingling.
Kelli Yingling is set to be arraigned on these charges on Wednesday in Department 10 of the Kings County Superior Court.
