Two adolescent individuals have been apprehended by the Metro Nashville Police Department after they were discovered in a stolen sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the Channing Drive area. The stolen GMC Terrain was identified by law enforcement authorities, who had been tracking the vehicle with the assistance of an MNPD helicopter. The SUV had been forcibly taken from a parking lot situated at 714 Due West Avenue.

The police pilot relayed critical information to officers on the ground, notifying them that the two suspects, aged 15 and 16, had abandoned the stolen vehicle on Channing Drive. The individuals then proceeded to enter a Kia, which was subsequently stopped on Due West Avenue and Dickerson Pike. A collaborative effort involving detectives and various law enforcement units, including canine teams, successfully led to the capture of all five occupants.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the two teenagers were responsible for the carjacking incident. The other three individuals were interviewed and subsequently released by the authorities. The teenage suspects have been formally charged in juvenile court with the offence of carjacking.
