Vadodara: Over the past three days, four individuals in Vadodara are suspected to have succumbed to the scorching heatwave gripping the city. All four victims were rushed to SSG Hospital after experiencing severe health issues. The authorities at SSG Hospital have confirmed that the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.

Dr. Ranjan Iyer, superintendent of SSG Hospital, stated, “During the summer months, cases of heat-related emergencies tend to rise. While there has been an increase in such cases this year, there is no abnormal surge. Our medical staff is well-prepared to handle emergency situations.”

Among the deceased, two have been identified as 77-year-old Mem Bahadur and 60-year-old Geeta Vaghela. Mem Bahadur collapsed at his residence on Tuesday morning due to extreme discomfort and was admitted to SSG Hospital, where he passed away during treatment.

On Monday, Geeta Vaghela experienced chest pain and lost consciousness while at the railway station. Despite medical intervention, she did not survive and passed away on Tuesday. The hospital anticipates receiving more cases of heatwave-related casualties over the next three days.
