Teen Girl Hurt in Alcohol-Involved UTV Crash Dies in Minnesota.
Accident – Death – Obituary News : Duluth, MN (KROC-AM News) – Tragedy struck in Minnesota as a teenage girl involved in an alcohol-related UTV crash earlier this month has tragically passed away. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident around 10:00 on the night of May 6. The UTV, which was occupied by four individuals, was the only vehicle involved in the fatal crash.
The incident took place near an intersection in Canosia Township, just northwest of Duluth. All four occupants of the UTV were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Among them, a teenage girl from Duluth sustained life-threatening injuries. Sadly, on Sunday, the critically injured girl, identified as 17-year-old Emma Jean Malmquist, succumbed to her injuries.
The other occupants, an 18-year-old woman, 23-year-old woman, and 27-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the crash revealed that alcohol played a role in the tragic incident. However, authorities have not disclosed who was driving the UTV at the time of the crash.
Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the incident, with plans to submit a charging referral to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office in the coming weeks. The community is mourning the loss of Emma Jean Malmquist and hoping for a swift resolution to the investigation.
