Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, recently announced her upcoming attendance at the White House State Dinner during President Ruto’s visit to the United States.

President Ruto is scheduled to meet with various Hollywood celebrities on May 21 to explore potential collaborations between Kenya and the film industry.

Joining the actress and comedian Butita on this initiative, Kate Actress will also visit Tyler Perry’s studios in Atlanta as part of the delegation.

Expressing her gratitude for the invitation, Kate Actress took to social media saying: “Good morning. This village girl will be attending the state dinner at the White House and a luncheon at the #TylerPerry studios in Atlanta at the invitation of Her Excellency #AmbassadorMegWhitman. The efforts and commitment of @usembassynairobi towards the growth of Kenya’s creative economy are truly appreciated.”

One of her followers, identified as amthegodfx, commented on the post, suggesting that ageing celebrities should make way for the next generation. This sparked a debate, with socialite Vera Sidika defending the place of older celebrities in the industry.

Vera Sidika emphasised that everyone has a role to play in the entertainment industry and should work hard to secure their position. She argued: “Why do people think that others should retire to make space for the younger generation? No one leaves room for anybody. You have to fight for your spot. The Gen Z cohort often complains about older individuals not making way for them. Why should we step aside for the new generation? Should we give up business opportunities and money for Gen Z? Success in the industry is earned through hard work, not by expecting others to step back.”

Vera encouraged the younger generation to put in the effort rather than wait for opportunities to be handed to them. She stated: “Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to you, work hard and create your own path. Success does not wait for anyone. Stop expecting others to make space for you and start working towards your goals. The entertainment industry is competitive, and success is achieved through dedication and hard work.”

The ongoing debate between Generation Z and Millennials continues to escalate, highlighting the tensions between different age groups in various social and cultural contexts.
