Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Pune Police provided new information to a local court on Wednesday regarding the tragic incident involving a 17-year-old boy who fatally struck two tech professionals with a Porsche Taycan on Sunday. According to reports, the father of the teenager, a prominent builder in Maharashtra, had instructed his driver to hand over the keys of the luxury car to his son whenever he requested them.

The lawyer representing the father had previously stated that the car was given to the driver, not the teenager. However, police statements accessed by TOI revealed that the driver had contacted the father, informing him that the teenager was adamant about driving the vehicle. Subsequently, the father instructed the driver to sit in the passenger seat and allow the teenager to drive the car.

In a significant development, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) decided to revoke the bail of the 17-year-old boy and remand him to a juvenile detention center for a period of 14 days. The Pune Police have also submitted a review petition to the Juvenile Justice Board, advocating for the boy to be tried as an adult.

Furthermore, the police have detained the father of the minor for permitting him to operate the vehicle without a valid license. The father has been placed in police custody until May 24. It was reported that the teenager was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. As a result, the police have apprehended two bar owners for serving alcohol to the minor, with one of them reportedly spending ₹48,000 at the establishments in a short span of time.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of two young IT professionals, identified as Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhia, both hailing from Madhya Pradesh. Savitha Awadhiya, the grieving mother of Aneesh, expressed her anguish in an interview with NDTV, referring to the accident as a potential act of murder.

In an emotional plea for justice, she asserted, “It is the boy’s mistake, you can even call it murder, because if he had not made such a big mistake, no one would have died. If only his family members had paid attention, then today my son would have been alive. This is straight up murder.”

Demanding stringent consequences for the boy, she criticised the efforts to shield him due to his family’s financial status. She appealed to the Maharashtra government to intervene and ensure that justice is served for the loss of her son..
