Tragedy struck in Jharkhand’s Sahibganj as an 18-year-old teenager lost his life after plunging into a 100-foot-deep lake in a bid to film an Instagram reel. The young man, identified as Tausif, tragically drowned in the water, with his body being recovered hours later.
According to reports, Tausif and his friends were enjoying a day by the lake on Monday, May 20, when the fatal incident occurred. In a misguided attempt to capture an attention-grabbing video for his social media account, Tausif made the fateful decision to jump into the deep waters, resulting in a heartbreaking outcome.
Footage of the incident quickly circulated on various social media platforms, depicting the harrowing moment when Tausif leapt into the lake as his friends recorded the ill-fated stunt. Despite their efforts to rescue him, Tausif struggled to stay afloat and ultimately succumbed to the water.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Kushwaha revealed that Tausif’s inability to navigate the deep waters led to his tragic demise. The young man’s impulsive decision to jump into the lake without proper safety measures ultimately cost him his life.
