Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Indian-Origin Students in US

Indian origin students tragically lost their lives in a horrific car accident that occurred in the US state of Georgia. The devastating incident took place on May 14 along Westside Parkway in Alpharetta, leading to the closure of the roadway between Hembree Road and Maxwell Road. All five victims involved in the accident were students of Alpharetta High School and the University of Georgia.

New Delhi: A fatal road accident in the US state of Georgia claimed the lives of three Indian-origin students and left two others injured. The car, in which the students were traveling, flipped over after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle, according to police reports.

The five victims, all 18 years old, were students of Alpharetta High School and the University of Georgia. The deceased individuals have been identified as Sriya Avasarala, Anvi Sharma, and Aryan Joshi, while the injured survivors of the tragic crash were Rithwak Somepalli, a Georgia State University student and the driver of the vehicle, and Mohammed Liyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School.

Local authorities stated that the three Indian-American students were passengers in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on May 14 on Westside Parkway in Alpharetta. Following the incident, the roadway between Hembree Road and Maxwell Road was temporarily closed to facilitate investigation and cleanup.

Car Flips Over After Deadly Crash

Based on evidence collected at the scene, it is believed that the vehicle came to a rest upside down in the tree line after the driver lost control. Two of the occupants, Joshi and Avasarala, tragically lost their lives at the scene, while Sharma succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital. The injured student has been admitted to North Fulton Hospital for medical care and recovery.
