The victims were identified as Sriya Avasarala, Anvi Sharma, and Aryan Joshi, who were passengers in the single-vehicle crash. The driver, Rithwak Somepalli, a Georgia State University student, and Mohammed Liyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School, were the other two occupants who were injured in the accident. All five individuals involved in the crash were just 18 years old.
Based on the evidence at the scene, it is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and come to rest upside down in a tree line. Joshi and Avasarala were found dead at the scene, while Sharma succumbed to her injuries at North Fulton Hospital.
