Rock Hill, South Carolina – A man has been taken into custody by the Rock Hill Police Department after allegedly shooting and injuring two individuals, including one victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the mouth.
According to authorities, the incident took place on Herlong Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area and discovered a 22-year-old male with a serious gunshot wound to his mouth, as well as a 20-year-old female who had suffered a graze wound.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Lamarius Devon Howze, reportedly fled the scene on a silver bicycle while dressed in all black. A K-9 tracking team was deployed to locate Howze, who was eventually apprehended on South Cherry Road.
Police have determined that Howze was acquainted with the victims prior to the altercation. Howze allegedly encountered the victims as they pulled into a parking lot in a black Kia. An argument ensued between Howze and the male victim, during which Howze allegedly seized the victim’s firearm and drove away.
Subsequently, Howze fired multiple shots into the vehicle, striking both victims. Howze was taken into custody and transported to the Rock Hill Jail, where he faces charges of attempted murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
