TERRELL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB/Gray News) – A devastating car crash in Terrell County, Georgia, has claimed the life of a recently graduated high school student. The Georgia State Patrol reported that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning on Bobby Locke Road.
According to investigators, a white Ford F-150 was travelling south on Bobby Locke Road when it veered off the highway while navigating a curve. The vehicle travelled approximately 260 feet onto the east shoulder before colliding with a culvert and becoming airborne, ultimately striking a guy wire.

Tragically, a passenger in the vehicle, Vansh Patel, was ejected from the truck during the collision. The F-150 continued its southbound trajectory, remaining airborne until it collided with a tree, causing significant damage to the roof before coming to an uncontrolled stop on its side.
David Mullins, the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He was subsequently airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital. Mullins had recently graduated from Deerfield-Windsor High School, where he was a senior at the time of the incident.
In a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, the school’s head football coach, Brian McCrae, expressed his deep sorrow at the loss of Mullins. He extended his condolences to Mullins’ family and friends, highlighting the impact of the young man’s character and spirit on those around him.

Coroner Michael Fowler recently announced that Mullins had been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Albany Rotary Club and had aspirations of attending the University of Georgia. The tragic loss of Mullins has deeply impacted the community, with Deerfield-Windsor High School offering support to his family and fellow students during this difficult time.
WALB has initiated contact with the Georgia State Patrol to obtain further details regarding the circumstances of the crash. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist Mullins’ family with funeral expenses, surpassing its initial target due to the overwhelming support and generosity of donors.
