Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A motorbike crash on the morning of 12th May resulted in the apprehension of an individual who was under postrelease community supervision (PRCS) for a homicide in Alameda County.

Police officers were called to the scene of a solo motorbike accident on Moraga Avenue at 6 a.m., as reported by Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan. Upon arrival, they found a 50-year-old man pushing a motorcycle down the road. The man, identified as Dana Harper, was examined for injuries by the officers. A subsequent records check revealed that he was operating the vehicle without a licence. Additionally, it was discovered that the suspect was under PRCS for a previous homicide. The motorcycle, a 2016 SYN Wolf Classic, was reported stolen from Oakland.

After a search of Harper, suspected crystal methamphetamine was found in his possession. Harper was taken to Valley Care Medical Center and later transported to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. He was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, and a parole violation.


Stolen vehicle accident leads to police search for juvenile suspects

An incident involving a stolen vehicle and a non-injury accident in the early hours of 11th May prompted a search by police for two possible juvenile suspects.

The accident was reported at 12:22 a.m. on Magnolia. According to Captain Monahan, a Hyundai Elantra was travelling at a high speed, lost control, and collided with a pole on the corner of El Cerrito and Magnolia avenues. A witness reported that a young male and female fled from the vehicle down El Cerrito. Subsequently, a resident on San Carlos reported seeing the two individuals in their backyard, accompanied by a small dog. Despite efforts, the suspects were not located, and the stolen vehicle was towed away.

Bench warrants lead to arrest of man on Grand Avenue

On the evening of 16th May, a man was found seated on a bench on Grand Avenue in a hunched position, as per the police log. Upon identification, it was revealed that the man had outstanding bench warrants from Berkeley for charges including indecent exposure, loitering, and possession of paraphernalia, according to Captain Monahan.
