Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man in Las Vegas is facing multiple charges after allegedly brandishing an AR-15 rifle at another parent outside Sierra Vista High School. Alfred Pamintuan, the accused, is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon following the incident on May 14.

According to police documents obtained by NewsNation affiliate KLAS, the altercation occurred around 1:30 pm as a parent was picking up their daughter from school. The parent claimed that Pamintuan, driving a black Tesla Model 3, cut him off and then raised the rifle towards him after making eye contact.

The parent, feeling threatened, stopped his car and allowed Pamintuan to drive away. However, Pamintuan allegedly displayed a loaded magazine as he left the scene. The parent decided to follow Pamintuan and managed to capture the Tesla’s license plate for identification.

The following day, the parent’s daughter, who attended the same school, skipped classes out of fear for her safety. Concerned about the incident, the parent reported the incident to Clark County school police.

Police Investigation and Arrest

On May 15, officers from the Clark County School District Police Department interviewed Pamintuan’s younger brother, who confirmed that Pamintuan had indeed displayed the rifle in a fit of anger. The brother also mentioned that Pamintuan, an Uber driver, kept the AR-15 in his vehicle.

To apprehend Pamintuan, authorities devised a plan where school administrators called him to pick up his brother due to a fabricated verbal altercation. When Pamintuan arrived at the school’s parking lot, police conducted a vehicle stop and placed the school on a soft lockdown.

During the arrest, a black assault rifle with a magazine was found in plain sight on the front passenger seat floorboard of Pamintuan’s vehicle. Despite denying pointing the gun at the parent, Pamintuan admitted to showing them the magazine out of fear for his own safety.

Court Proceedings

Pamintuan was able to post bail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18 to face the charges brought against him. The incident has raised concerns among parents and school authorities about the safety of students and the need for stricter measures to prevent such altercations in the future.

As the case unfolds, the community awaits a resolution to ensure the well-being of all individuals involved in the incident outside Sierra Vista High School.
