A tragic incident unfolded in Fremont on Sunday night as a motorcyclist lost their life in a suspected DUI crash, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. on eastbound Niles Canyon Road, just west of Palomares Canyon Road. The victim, a 65-year-old resident of Fremont, collided with the south guardrail protector before being ejected into the brush along Niles Canyon Creek. Despite the swift response of emergency personnel, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

This unfortunate event marks the second traffic fatality in Fremont this year, prompting a thorough investigation by the authorities. While the exact circumstances of the crash are still under review, law enforcement officials have indicated that alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
