SHREVEPORT, United Kingdom (KTAL/KMSS) – A recent incident involving a suspicious vehicle and a tragic outcome has left the Shreveport Police Department investigating the circumstances surrounding a man’s suicide.
According to reports from law enforcement officials, patrol officers first encountered the suspicious vehicle at Airport Park on Kennedy Drive during the early hours of May 19th. When officers attempted to approach the vehicle, the driver, later identified as 54-year-old Terrence Leejay, fled the scene, initiating a 20-minute chase through the streets of Shreveport.
After a pursuit that culminated on Lake Street, Leejay brought the vehicle to a stop. It was at this point that the driver reportedly turned the gun on himself, tragically taking his own life. Despite the efforts of the responding officers to provide immediate medical assistance, Leejay was ultimately transported to a nearby hospital by Shreveport Fire Department medics. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
The Shreveport Police Department has launched an ongoing investigation into the incident to determine the events leading up to Leejay’s decision to take his own life. The authorities are working diligently to uncover any potential factors that may have contributed to this tragic outcome.
