Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Nakuru woman, Sheila, an aspiring gospel artist, had a life-changing experience when her Mzungu baby daddy, who had previously abandoned her and their daughter, reached out to her last year. After eight years of absence, the baby daddy expressed remorse and a desire to make amends to Sheila and their child. To Sheila’s surprise, he purchased a house worth $24,288 for her and their daughter, along with financing renovations to modernize it.
Sheila, in an interview with TUKO.co.ke, shared her story of raising her daughter alone after the baby daddy blocked her when she first got pregnant. It was not until last year that he contacted her again, asking for forgiveness. Sheila narrated, “My baby daddy blocked me after I told him that I was pregnant, and I was left to raise the baby alone. Eight years later, he contacted me again. He was remorseful and wanted to make up for all the lost time.”
Sheila’s baby daddy apologized for disappearing and asked how he could make her life and their daughter’s life easier. Sheila mentioned that she suggested having a place they could call home, and he agreed. He told her to start house hunting as he was ready to buy them a house. Sheila found a lovely bungalow for KSh 3.2 million, and her baby daddy bought it for them.
In addition to the house, the baby daddy also bought Sheila a car and enrolled their daughter in a better school. Sheila expressed her gratitude, saying, “It was indeed a miracle because for eight years, he did not want anything to do with me and the child, but he was remorseful, and he now wants to be part of our lives.”
The experience of renovating the house taught Sheila that building from scratch could be much easier. She advised, “It was costly to renovate the house because we paid over KSh 4 million to buy the land and house and make the renovations. Nonetheless, if you have no time, buying a house and revamping it to your liking could be your best option. But if you have all the time, I would advise building from scratch.”
