DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities in Durham have apprehended a woman following the fatal shooting of a man in a residential area in March, as stated by the Durham police department.
Reports indicate that on the early hours of March 28 at approximately 1:33 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to a shooting incident in the 3400 block of Old Chapel Hill, close to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Upon arrival, officials discovered a man, identified as 43-year-old Samuel Carr, with a gunshot wound. Tragically, Carr succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following the investigation, Antoniquette Rigsbee, aged 47, voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Monday. She has been formally charged with murder, first-degree kidnapping, and stalking in connection with the incident.
Rigsbee is currently being held at the Durham County Jail without bond as the legal proceedings continue.
